As a Behavioural Therapist / Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse emotional, social, and behavioural needs. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and leadership to implement effective interventions, promote positive behaviour strategies, and ensure students are supported holistically to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A relevant qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Behavioural Therapy, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or clinical setting as a behavioural therapist or counsellor.
  • Strong understanding of behavioural interventions and counselling techniques
  • Experience supporting students with additional learning or emotional needs (highly advantageous)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group counselling support
  • Develop and implement individual behaviour support plans
  • Monitor and track student progress and well-being
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to support classroom strategies
  • Support the development of positive behaviour policies and practices
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to support student outcomes
  • Deliver staff training or guidance where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Uphold high standards of safeguarding and pastoral care
