Overview

The successful candidate will deliver the Cambridge ESL Programme at secondary level in line with the Cambridge International Curriculum Framework. Teachers are expected to create engaging and student-centred lessons that develop learners’ confidence, communication skills, and academic English proficiency.

The role also involves supporting students beyond the classroom through extracurricular activities and contributing positively to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver English as a Second Language instruction in line with the Cambridge International Curriculum
  • Prepare lesson plans, curriculum materials, and learning resources
  • Adapt teaching approaches to support diverse student needs and abilities
  • Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback
  • Maintain positive classroom expectations and monitor student development
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding student progress
  • Provide additional academic support where required
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities
  • Contribute to extracurricular programmes, clubs, and academic activities
  • Carry out additional professional responsibilities as assigned by school leadership

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant subject area
  • Recognised teaching qualification/licence/certification
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience following qualification
  • Experience with the Cambridge International Curriculum is advantageous
  • Fluent English speaker with a minimum C1 level proficiency
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and teamwork abilities
  • Adaptable, positive, patient, and committed to student success
