Description

ASQ International is currently looking for a dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join a remarkable International School in Kenya! Successful candidates will teach pupils across Years 1 to 8, while also guiding and preparing older students for scholarship examinations at age 13.

Overview

Living in Kenya offers a vibrant blend of tradition, modernity, and natural beauty. The country is known for its warm hospitality, diverse cultures, and breathtaking landscapes—from the savannahs of the Maasai Mara to the beaches along the Indian Ocean. Nairobi, the capital, is a bustling hub with a growing economy, modern amenities, and a lively social scene, while coastal cities like Mombasa provide a more relaxed lifestyle with rich Swahili heritage.

The school

An established learning community designed to nurture young people through a balanced blend of academic study, personal growth, and character development. The environment places strong emphasis on curiosity, independence, and confidence, encouraging learners to explore their strengths while developing resilience and empathy. Daily life combines structured learning with wide‑ranging opportunities for creativity, physical activity, and social interaction, helping pupils build meaningful friendships and a sense of belonging. The institution focuses on providing supportive guidance, fostering good decision‑making, and inspiring children to challenge themselves in a safe and enriching setting.  Teaching responsibilities extend across the entire school, with the Computer Science teacher overseeing the delivery of the subject throughout all year groups. Each teacher carries a timetable of approximately 28 lessons per week, excluding games sessions. The department holds responsibility for maintaining effective teaching practices and ensuring overall student progress. Examinations at the end of each term, along with half‑term assessments, must be set appropriately and sensibly. Close attention to pupils requiring learning support is essential, with every effort made to accommodate their needs and ensure that all identified students have an up‑to‑date Individual Education Plan (IEP). When lessons are missed, staff members are expected to provide catch‑up materials or support, ensuring pupils fully understand the work covered. Constructive and positive reporting on student progress is required throughout the academic year.  Apply now to join a pristine International School in Kenya as a Computer Science Teacher!
