We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Principal to support the strategic and operational leadership of a thriving secondary school within an international setting.

 

Overview

The Deputy Principal will play a key role in leading teaching and learning across the secondary phase, ensuring high academic standards, strong pastoral care, and effective school operations.

Working closely with the Principal, you will support the implementation of the school’s vision, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.

You will lead and support middle leaders and teaching staff, ensuring outstanding classroom practice, curriculum delivery, and student outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A recognised teaching qualification and relevant leadership certification
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a secondary school
  • Strong understanding of British or international curricula (e.g. IGCSE, A-Level or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated success in improving teaching and learning outcomes
  • Experience in line management and staff development
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, pastoral care, and student wellbeing
  • Experience working in an international or multicultural school environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to implement and manage change effectively

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Principal in the overall leadership and management of the secondary school
  • Lead on teaching and learning, ensuring high-quality classroom practice
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and academic performance
  • Oversee curriculum implementation and development
  • Line manage Heads of Department and support middle leadership development
  • Promote a positive school culture focused on respect, wellbeing, and achievement
  • Ensure effective behaviour management and safeguarding practices
  • Contribute to school improvement planning and accreditation processes
  • Engage with parents, staff, and the wider school community
