Overview

Early Years Teachers who deeply believe in the competence and creativity of young children are encouraged to apply!  Our school fosters play- and inquiry-based learning within a bilingual environment, with strong elements of the Reggio Emilia approach integrated throughout our pedagogy. Applicants with teamwork skills, energy, experience, and ELL (English Language Learner) expertise will be especially well-suited.

The school

The school is planned as a co-educational, bilingual (English and Mandarin) through-train day school for students from Kindergarten to University entrance. Our approach combines the depth and expertise of a historically successful model with the passion and pioneering spirit of a newly established school. We aim to serve a growing number of Chinese nationals and expatriates in the Shenzhen region who are interested in enrolling their children in a leading dual-language, internationally accredited program. Students follow a blended bilingual programme with English first-language teachers and Chinese bilingual teachers in every class in the Pre-School (KG 1, 2, and 3) and the Prep-Junior School (Prep 1, 2, and 3). From Prep 4 onwards, pupils are taught by subject specialists following a blended curriculum. Chinese, Mathematics, and Morality are taught in Chinese. Humanities, Music, and Musical Theatre are taught using a blend of English and Chinese. Science, Computer Science, Design Technology, Art, and PE are taught in English.

The ideal candidate

• University degree (BA/B.Sc) or equivalent

• Teacher Qualifications (B.Ed/M.Ed/PGCE/QTS) or equivalent

• Have at least 2-year teaching experiences with international school or foreign language kindergarten and/or Early Childhood setting with EAL needs

• Native English speaker

• Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practices of early childhood frameworks such as the Canadian educational system, IB PYP, EYFS, Reggio Emilia (preferred)

• A positive, caring, collaborative team-player with a passion for early childhood education (required)
