Description

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Grade 5 teacher to join our Primary team in Indonesia. This individual will deliver engaging lessons, support our whole-child vision, and build strong relationships with students and families.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education (or equivalent), have at least 2–3 years of primary teaching experience, and demonstrate strong English communication skills.

Located in Indonesia, the forward-thinking international school in Jakarta offers a SPK-registered programme. In Lower Secondary (Grades 6-8 / Years 7-9) they follow the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum for English, Maths, Science (plus Global Perspectives & ICT) alongside the IMYC enquiry-based framework. Specialist teachers cover creative arts, languages, PE, and more. Expat students have choice in optional subjects; national students have a streamlined option. After Lower Secondary, students progress to IGCSE and International A Levels.

The ideal candidate

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (a teaching qualification is highly preferred)
  • 2–3 years (or more) of teaching experience at the Upper Primary level, ideally with Grade 5 learners
  • A strong command of English, both spoken and written
  • Experience with international or inquiry-based curricula (e.g., IPC, IB PYP, or Cambridge Primary)
  • A student-centered approach that fosters curiosity, creativity, and confidence
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A collaborative attitude and openness to professional growth
  • A willingness to embrace cultural diversity and contribute positively to a vibrant international school community
