ASQ International is seeking a passionate and experienced High School English Teacher to join an American international school in Kuwait this September 2025, inspiring students through literature, language, and critical thinking in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

Overview

This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about literature, writing, and critical thinking, and who thrives in a collaborative, multicultural learning environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous English Language Arts instruction to students in Grades 9–12, fostering a love for reading and writing while developing students’ analytical and communication skills. The teacher will also contribute to the broader school community through extracurricular activities, curriculum development, and student mentorship.

The ideal candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in English, English Education, or a related field
  • 2+ years’ of recent experience teaching English Language Arts at the high school level
  • Experience in an International or American curriculum school setting is preferred
  • Passionate about teaching classic and contemporary literature, writing, and critical analysis
  • Comfortable working in a diverse, multicultural environment and skilled at adapting instruction to meet varied student needs
  • Uses creative, student-centered teaching strategies and integrates technology to enhance learning
  • Works well with colleagues, contributes to curriculum development, and participates in school-wide initiatives
  • Actively seeks professional development opportunities and reflects on teaching practices to improve student outcomes
