The successful candidate will be appointed to deliver both subjects across lower and upper secondary levels, covering the equivalent of UK Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The school

The ideal candidate

  • Possess a strong academic background with a degree in History and/or Geography, plus a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification (applications from recent graduates are welcome)
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of learning objectives and assessment practices for IGCSE and/or A Level in History, Geography, or Global Issues
  • Bring broad subject expertise in History and Geography to support curriculum development and the integration of contemporary global topics
  • Confidently engage bilingual learners through creative teaching methods, thorough planning, and well‑structured schemes of work
  • Show commitment to student progress, achievement, and overall wellbeing
  • Exhibit excellent teamwork, initiative, and adaptability, while actively sharing best practice with colleagues
  • Contribute effectively to team goals, aligning with processes and initiatives that support the school’s strategic priorities
  • Adapt to the requirements of teaching within a bilingual framework, including communication in French
  • Demonstrate interest or experience in leading educational trips and extracurricular activities such as debate clubs, student‑led projects, or sustainability initiatives (SDGs)
  • Must have rights to work in Europe
