The ideal candidate:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Science Education (a teaching qualification is an advantage).
- 2–3 years of experience teaching Chemistry at IGCSE and/or A-Level within an international or Cambridge curriculum school.
- Strong subject expertise and the ability to design engaging, inquiry-driven lessons.
- A proven ability to use experiments and demonstrations to make complex concepts accessible.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A student-centred mindset, with the ability to differentiate learning for a range of abilities.
- A collaborative and adaptable approach, contributing positively to the school community.
- A genuine enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and educational innovation.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging IGCSE and A-Level Chemistry lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum.
- Design and implement lesson plans, assessments, and practical activities that promote inquiry-based learning and scientific thinking.
- Conduct laboratory experiments safely and effectively, encouraging students to explore and apply key chemical concepts.
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback and academic support.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and contribute to the school’s reporting process.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, teaching strategies, and department goals.
- Participate actively in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to extra-curricular activities and wider school initiatives that enrich the student experience.
