An international school in Yangon is seeking enthusiastic Lower Primary English Language & Literature Teachers to join its growing primary team.

This is an opportunity for an educator who enjoys making language learning engaging, meaningful and accessible to young students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

 

Overview

You will teach English Language and Literature to Lower Primary students, designing lessons that build strong foundations in literacy, comprehension, vocabulary, reading, writing and communication.

You will encourage students to develop their own ideas and voices through reading, storytelling, discussion and creative expression.

Differentiation and effective assessment will be important in ensuring that every student is appropriately supported and challenged.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor's Degree and recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Lower Primary or Key Stage 1 students
  • Strong knowledge of English Language and Literature
  • Cambridge and/or IB experience would be highly advantageous
  • Previous international school teaching experience
  • Strong knowledge of phonics, reading and writing pedagogy
  • Ability to create engaging and differentiated learning experiences
  • Confident use of assessment to monitor student progress
  • Comfortable working with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Collaborative, adaptable and committed to professional development
  • Genuine passion for developing young learners' confidence and love of language
