Inspire young learners and build strong mathematical foundations in a dynamic international school setting in Yangon, Myanmar. We are looking for a passionate Primary and Middle School Mathematics Teacher who can create engaging, interactive lessons and nurture a love for maths in younger learners.

 

Overview:

This role focuses on teaching mathematics to younger learners, typically across Primary and Lower Secondary levels, building strong foundational skills in numeracy and mathematical thinking. The teacher will deliver engaging, interactive lessons that introduce key concepts such as number sense, basic algebra, geometry, and problem-solving in an age-appropriate way. A creative and patient approach is essential to inspire confidence and a positive attitude towards maths. In addition to teaching, the role involves planning lessons, assessing student progress, and supporting learners with varying abilities. The teacher will play a key role in creating a supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, participation, and a love for learning. This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys working with younger students and is skilled at making mathematics accessible and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons for Primary and Lower Secondary students
  • Introduce and reinforce key mathematical concepts in an age-appropriate way
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to support different learning styles
  • Assess student progress and provide regular feedback
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Support students in building strong foundational numeracy and problem-solving skills
  • Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and abilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school activities and events
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement
  • Encourage student participation, confidence, and a love for mathematics

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Primary and/or Lower Secondary Maths
  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
  • Creative, enthusiastic, and student-focused approach
  • Native English speaker
