Overview

Our client school are urgently seeking a qualified Primary Teacher for a short-term role in the Falkland Islands, starting at the end of April 2025. The position involves working with a small group of Key Stage 2 children in a rural setting on a sheep farm in East Falkland.

The Falkland Islands are a British Overseas Territory located in the southern hemisphere. Known for their rugged beauty, stunning landscapes, and diverse wildlife, they offer a unique opportunity to experience nature at its wildest. With miles of pristine beaches, towering cliffs, and abundant birdlife, this is an adventure like no other.

The School

The school serves around 320 students across Foundation Stage 1 to Year 6. Teaching follows the National Curriculum for England, with a tailored approach for remote communities. The school provides primary education to children in Stanley and its surrounding areas, including satellite schools and a travelling teacher service.

The Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in education
• Qualified Primary Teacher (QTS) with completed induction.
• Experienced in teaching Key Stage 2 National Curriculum for England
• Valid passport & driver’s licence is required
• Medically fit and able to travel to the Falkland Islands.
• Clean DBS and two professional references required.
